About

Hi, I’m Laura! Welcome to The Cozy Tree, an outlet for creativity rooted in faith. I am a wife, mother, and follower of Christ. Here you will find all sorts of creative and educational resources.

How It Started

I started The Cozy Tree with the intention of 1) sharing my faith, and 2) doing the hobbies I love. I have always found joy in creating, whether it’s drawing, lettering, knitting, crocheting, or sewing. So why not use that passion to bring glory to God? Especially now that I’m a mother of two children, using my creativity to teach my kids about the Bible is very important to me.

Crafting

I actually didn’t start getting into knitting or crocheting until the summer of 2019. I had a series of surgeries and illnesses so I was forced to rest a lot. Drawing was always a passion of mine but it no longer inspired me. I needed something that was creative, but still pretty logical. Thanks to youtube and pinterest and some random supplies I already had when I attempted crochet in the past, I got hooked!

Education

As for the educational aspect, I am the daughter and sister of two great school teachers. Education has always been something I wanted to pursue in one way or another. While our kids are too young for school yet, it’s never too early to teach them about Jesus! I also have friends who are currently starting to homeschool or even teach in the children’s ministry at church. There are SO many fantastic teaching materials and resources out there, but sometimes I can’t quite find exactly what I want. So I make it myself!

Purpose

The purpose of this website is to share all those creations with you. Whether it’s a knitting pattern or an object lesson, I pray you find something that works for you. My goal is to help everyone get immersed in God’s word and feel cozy while they do it! What better way to rest in Him than to pursue his will more, and to create things that promote the fruits of the spirit?

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23

Thank you so much for being here, and I look forward to sharing with you!
