When we found out we were expecting baby #2, I was so excited to make something to announce it to the family! I had been wanting something to knit for a while but nothing quite inspired me. As soon as I got that 5th positive pregnancy test in 2 days (I just needed to make sure ?) I got to work looking for a cute pattern idea!

Since it was winter, I decided to knit my son a new hat. He had already outgrown this old one so he needed a new one that would fit anyway! I found the most adorable hat pattern from Little Red Window over on Pinterest. You can purchase her pattern from Etsy here!

I had to knit this quick because we wanted to announce at Christmas. So I kind of messed up the decreases but that’s okay. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I can’t wait to knit the matching hat for baby #2 next!

It was so fun getting to surprise the grandparents with this hat. We wrapped it up as a Christmas gift for our son and had my mom and dad open it with him. Mom/Nana was absolutely shocked which was exciting because she accidentally found out about our son before we were ready to announce (a story for another time lol)! It was such a great experience. And I’m so thankful for such a nice pattern to follow!
